How To Prepare For HITC

Spiritually

 ~      Be in Church every opportunity you get; i.e. at all corporate, youth & prayer services

~       Prayer—Develop a consistent personal prayer/devotional life and attend COH corporate prayer services (Tues/Fri/Sat).

~       Give yourself to serving in different areas/needs in the church.

~       Read the Bible on a daily basis and familiarize yourself with Bible stories/characters.

~       Be faithful in attending a small group.

 

Emotionally

 ~      Settle in your heart that this next year belongs to the Lord and your time and energy will be dedicated to serving Him.

~       Cut down on distractions such as excessive socializing, TV & Internet usage.

 

Practically

 ~      Become comfortable with going to bed at a decent hour and waking up early. Follow a curfew. This cannot be stressed enough!

~       Learn to eat healthy.

~       Exercise 3-4 times a week.

~       Build your wardrobe to meet the HITC dress code.

~       Become accustomed to checking your e-mail daily for updates from Pastor Lee or Katherine.

~       Keep your room clean.

 

Academically

~       Read, Read, Read

~       Read anything that will help you develop good time management skills.

~       Improve both typing and handwriting skills; learn how to write quickly & legibly.

~       Practice writing reports on the things you read and allow others to critique your writing.

~       Learn how to memorize Scripture…and remember it!
